THORNS 及其前身 STIGMA DIABOLICUM 的早期录音是挪威黑金属史上最具传奇色彩和影响力的作品。其中包括 STIGMA DIABOLICUM 的《Luna De Nocturnus》试听带（1991 年）和排练录音带，以及 THORNS 的《Grymyrk》（1991 年）和《Trøndertun》（1992 年）试听带。主创 Snorre Ruch（又名 Blackthorn）被广泛认为是北欧黑金属吉他音色的开创者，他与 MAYHEM 乐队主唱 Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth 的即兴重复乐句和概念相结合，奠定了当时声名显赫的挪威音乐场景——以及随后席卷全球的现象——的音色基础。

The early recordings of THORNS and their predecessor STIGMA DIABOLICUM belong to the most legendary and influential Norwegian black metal works of all time. This encompasses STIGMA DIABOLICUM’s "Luna De Nocturnus" demo (1991) and rehearsal tape as well the THORNS demos "Grymyrk" (1991) and "Trøndertun" (1992). Mastermind Snorre Ruch aka Blackthorn is widely credited as the original creator of the Nordic black metal guitar sound that in combination with the riffing and concepts of MAYHEM's Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth laid the sonic foundation of the as famous as infamous Norwegian scene – and subsequently the global phenomenon that followed.
