Since 2015’s debut EP Corrosive Revelation, each release has hoisted the Hamburg quintet further up the death metal mountain, with Mount Carcass and Global Worming receiving widespread acclaim. Their soft spot for novelty cheese recurs here in a glorious David Hasselhoff cover with Lord Of The Lost.

On this coruscating valediction we find the blasting opener “Enemies Of Peace,” “technically the fastest song we’ve ever made” with “No After. No Before,” and the macabre title track alongside “Life Breeds Death.” Produced by the band with drums engineered by Eike Freese, Coffin Born stands as their farewell, shaped by the intense bond of a lineup that remained together throughout their whole career.
